Ned Wood is a Dharma Punk, Tricky Tree, Disenfranchised Idealist, and Saturday Boy. He had his 15 minutes of fame as a fanzine writer in the 1990s [more like 5 minutes, Ed.], contributing to The Tricky Tree and The Trent Times under a variety of names, including his own. After 23 years away on an extended sabbatical, he is alive and well and living in K Block.
The Ned Wood Archive contains some new writing and some old stuff we found in an attic.
“What I Know Most Surely about Morality and Obligations, I Owe to Football.” Albert Camus
“Sad old hippies still keep their hair long because we were part of something that meant something more than just ego and income.” Robert Plant
“The socialism I believe in isn’t really politics. It is a way of living. It is humanity. I believe the only way to live and to be truly successful is by collective effort, with everyone working for each other, everyone helping each other, and everyone having a share of the rewards at the end of the day. That might be asking a lot, but it’s the way I see football and the way I see life.” Bill Shankly
“Football belongs to everybody.” Brian Clough
“When you get to the top of a mountain keep going up” Zen Proverb (quoted in Along the Samurai’s Route: Japan for Budokas).
“By the way, climate is much more important than all of this and all of them.” Rebecca Solnit.
